We're back! (Hardships)

Hey readers, sorry for not updating for ages. Now I will be starting to update news about our Hong Kong trip. This will be the first post about the Hong Kong trip and also our production for 2012. :)

Our production for 2012 with the theme, "Its all about love" is really unique and heartwarming. This production is one of the best show the CH band had produced. For me, its not just a show about marching well or anything. Its a show which shows love and caring among the band members.

Along the journey, before the show was produced and our dreams to Hong Kong was fulfilled, all of the band members had worked so hard together for our target. We faced a lot of challenges and problems such as financial problem and many more. However, no matter how tough were the obstacles we encountered, how hard we fell and sometimes we lost hope, but we faced them all. We brought them down with unity, teamwork, commitment, discipline and most important feeling is LOVE. We showed love towards each other. Because love is the theme for our production. Love made us brave and determined to achieve our goal in Hong Kong.

Finally, "Its all about love" production won champion for the state level Sarawak. The champion made the CH band to be more determined to go to Hong Kong for another GOLD trophy.

On 27 June, we packed all our instruments and checked in at the airport on the next day. Then, we flew off for Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, we stayed in Hong Kong Adventure Corps training camp . We had our training everyday from day to night.

1 July, we boarded on bus early in the morning and off to Tsuen Wan where the drum battle was held. We were all in high spirit. All our percussionists were ready and looking awesome. In the morning, the percussionists performed their very best and showed the most handsome performance on earth. The crowds were all fascinated by their performance. We won silver award for the drum battle.

After the drum battle, we quickly got in out bus for our next competition. We took part in the parade competition. We all dressed up in different kind of costumes which represented Malaysia's multiracial background. It was a hot afternoon but we still performed very well especially the part where we all danced Tarian Ngajat. The crowds cheered happily for us. We were all proud that we come from a unique country with all types of culture.

After we went back to our camp and continued training because the next day is the full show competition. We slept very early that night to gain more energy.

The next day, we woke up very early in the morning for our last warm ups before the show. We were all feeling the same tension and maybe joy that day. Because we were thinking the same thing, "the war is today. IS THE DAY."

We arrived the stadium in the morning and tried the field for half an hour. Then we gathered for motivational talk and visualization training. And finally, its our turn for the show.

That time, I looked around me. I looked at all my friends. Some of them were smiling, maybe thinking we will going to win this game; some of them were grabbing their instruments so hard; some of them looked like they were going to cry. Somehow, in my heart, I wished this will never end. I started to miss everything. I missed everyone. I realized the fact that this might be our last show and everybody will not be able see each other after this Hong Kong trip, especially the Alumnis.

Here it comes. When I came back from my thought, we were already on the field. The speaker announced our band. The next thing I saw was our conductor's hands starting to dance in the air. Memories flashed back during the show. My muscles moved by themselves and I didn't have to think. The colourguards were beautiful. The percussionists were awesome. The hornlines played the music with all their feelings. The drama was so touching.

Now we were all at the last set of the show. We played our last note with all our strength. Just like what our beloved coach, Mr Kasem said, we couldn't play another note after the show. The pit percussionists played our finale. We slowly removed our helmets and gave the audiences a big bow.

  The production was ended.

After that, the results were announced. :) The results can be seen in another post.

Along the journey, we had gained through pain. We had struggled to be the best. We put our hands on each other's shoulders, telling each other "I trust you". We shared love and care among each other. We become closer friends after the trip. We had grown up and learnt to face problems on our own.

WHO ARE WE?
WHO ARE WE?
